Michael Carreras
Producer, director (1927-1994)
Michael Carreras took over from his father, Sir James Carreras, as a leading light at Hammer, producing dozens of its most memorable films. In particular, he is noted as Executive Producer of a number of the studio's early horror classics, including The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), Dracula (1958), The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958), The Mummy (1959), The Brides of Dracula (1960) and The Curse of the Werewolf (1960).
As a director, he was far less successful, with a string of fairly banal credits to his name, such as Visa to Canton (1961), The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb (1964) and Slave Girls (1967).
