In the 18th-century, pirates led by Captain LaRoche invade an English settlement on a Caribbean island.

Hammer's tight budget reveals itself in the fact that this pirate adventure, like The Devil-Ship Pirates not long afterwards, is set almost entirely on land. Nevertheless, Hammer did an impressive job disguising local locations, including the Bray Studios backlot, trusty Black Park and its lake, and the Callow Hill Sandpit, as its exotic West Indian setting. With the help of an art department led by studio veterans Bernard Robinson and Don Mingaye, it's a lush-looking swashbuckler.
